Press Brake Operator

Press Brake OperatorThe Press Brake Operator must perform tasks involving physical labor for operation and set up of the press brake and other various machines. May also operate a variety of other equipment including, but not limited to, hand, power tools, or other machinery. The Press Brake Programmer is expected to keep their area safe and free of hazards.Press Brake Operator Qualifications & Skills:Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance.Must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels in a manufacturing setting, be able to interpret drawings, written instructions and specifications.Should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving, math skills, and use precision measuring instruments.Press Brake Operator Responsibilities & Duties:Follow direction and instructions of supervisorAbility to complete required documentation when neededStart up, set up, and prepare machines for operation, loading and unloading materialPerform operator level maintenance as needed, requisition replacement parts as neededDeburr finished pieces as neededInspects finished pieces for proper specifications, tooling, and completenessSort finished jobs according to destinationMaintain and communicate finished jobsMonitor supplies, notify if any are neededKeep machine areas clean and clearAssist other workers when not busy with assigned machineOperate hand truck, industrial truck and other material handling equipment when neededPerform other related duties incidental to the work described hereinPhysical Requirements:Meet D. L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualificationsAbility to operate in a machine shop environment up to 12 hours per day, 40 to 50 hours per weekMajority of work requires standing or walking, minimal climbingHandle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistanceD.L.
