What You'll Do

As a Lead Direct Support Professional , you will:

• Partner with Residential Managers to ensure quality services and compliance with program standards.
• Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to Direct Support Professional staff.
• Assist with staff development and promote best practices in person-centered care.
• Support compliance with agency policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Communicate effectively with guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.
• Support the development of independent living skills and personal growth.
• Accompany and support individuals in community activities, appointments, and social events.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Promote dignity, respect, self-determination, and person-centered services.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
• Monitor and report changes in individuals' health, behavior, and overall well-being.
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations.

QualificationsRequired

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, including experience supporting individuals with behavioral challenges
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain certification
• Commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Preferred

• One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience in a human services, healthcare, or residential support setting
• Additional education or training in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Nursing, or a related field

Employment Requirements

Successful candidates must be able to pass:

• State and federal criminal background checks
• Drug screening
• Pre-employment physical examination
• PPD/TB testing

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Tuesday through Saturday
• 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Evening schedule in a residential support setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist individuals with personal care and daily activities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and provide physical assistance as needed
• Ability to accompany individuals in community settings
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
