POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk supports warehouse operations by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. This role is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, operating material handling equipment, preparing shipping documentation, and communicating with customers regarding orders and shipments. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with computer systems to support efficient warehouse operations.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other shipping documentation.
• Prepare, package, and process outgoing customer orders accurately and on schedule.
• Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Process shipping and receiving transactions within the company's inventory or ERP system.
• Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Coordinate shipments with freight carriers and package delivery services.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding order status, shipment tracking, and delivery information via phone and email.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Production, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related field preferred.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory or ERP software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory control procedures.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to accurately enter and maintain inventory and shipping records.
• Ability to prepare and process shipping documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including professional email communication with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
