WelderJoin our team to weld and fabricate metal components in a fast-paced shop!A structural steel fabrication company that manufactures and fabricates steel components used in large commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and energy construction projects across the United States.Elwood Staffing associates are eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package plus an exclusive savings program, including:Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plansHoliday PayTeladoc (online care)Referral Bonus IncentiveWeekly Pay401kAnd More!Welder Details:Temp-to-Hire position$22.00 to $30.00 / hourFull Time work availableFirst Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 04:30pm)Perform FCAW (3G) welding and pass required weld tests on 1" thick steelRead blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawingsOperate air arc gouging equipment for back gougingGrind and prep steel using 90° grinders and air toolsSet welding machines per procedure charts (volts, amps, wire feed speed)Pre-heat steel and maintain required temperatures using torches and heat sticksChip slag and clean welds between passesStraighten steel and correct distortion as neededOperate stud welding equipment as requiredFollow all weld procedures and AISC standardsWelder Qualifications:Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditionsMust read blueprints and welding symbolsFamiliarity with WP1, WP2, and WP3 welding procedures preferred3+ years welding or fabrication experience preferredSteel-toed boots and proper PPE requiredStrong safety mindset, attendance, and work ethic requiredApplicant may be subject to a background checkPre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) is required as a condition of employmentA conviction record will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.
