Job OverviewA law firm seeks a Bankruptcy Attorney in Birmingham, AL. The attorney will manage high-volume bankruptcy matters statewide, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and firm objectives. They will serve as a liaison between the firm and various stakeholders, expediting case files efficiently. Duties Oversee and manage high-volume statewide bankruptcy matters. Ensure timely progression of the firm's case files. Act as a liaison with clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, and trustees. Review and execute legal documents such as Payment Change Notices and Proofs of Claim. Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and attend court hearings. Prepare motions and pleadings related to secured creditors in bankruptcy. Manage case load to meet goals and client expectations. Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters. Maintain accurate updates in management systems. Prepare and present legal documents. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Alabama. Minimum of 3 years of bankruptcy experience, including exposure to Chapter 7 and 11 cases. Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation preferred. Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and relevant state and federal laws is a plus. Experience in foreclosure and real estate law preferred; willingness to learn required.Exceptional communication skills. Ability to travel as needed. Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities. Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Alabama. Skills Exceptional communication skills. Proficiency in legal research and writing.
