Maintenance Technician – The Point at Herndon

Location: 13161 Fox Hunt Lane, Herndon, VA 20171
Pay: $23–$27 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $2,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. During on-call rotations, the schedule is 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will complete repairs, respond to resident service requests, prepare apartments for move-in, and help maintain a safe, welcoming community.

What You’ll Do

• Complete resident service requests promptly, accurately, and professionally
• Diagnose and perform plumbing, appliance, minor electrical, and HVAC repairs
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including repairs and general turnover work
• Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs throughout the property
• Inspect and maintain property equipment, common areas, and building systems
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager, and onsite team
• Provide courteous and responsive service to residents
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations
• Participate in the property’s rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Attend required training and professional development programs

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of residential or apartment maintenance experience
• General knowledge of plumbing, appliances, electrical systems, HVAC, and apartment turns
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to live within 30 minutes of the property for on-call responsibilities
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Positive, dependable, and solutions-focused approach
• Flexibility to participate in on-call rotations and work weekends or holidays when needed
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment background and drug screenings

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl into small spaces, and regularly perform physical maintenance work. Candidates must also be able to lift and carry:

• 1–10 pounds frequently
• 15–25 pounds approximately 25% of the time
• 25–50 pounds approximately 25% of the time
• More than 50 pounds approximately 10% of the time
