RN - Behavioral Health

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population being served. The RN ensures that quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with the standards of care established by the unit and organization. This role involves demonstrating performance in alignment with the mission and goals of the organization, while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect. Responsibilities Meet the expectations of the applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Obtain and record initial assessments; establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs. Reassess patient systems systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention. Develop and implement measurable, individualized plans of care for patients within established timeframes. Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes; modify plans of care as necessary. Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning. Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care. Perform various Point of Care testing procedures. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing. Current BLS Certification from AHA required. CPI certification or equivalent required (Blue Card preferred). All newly hired nurses with two or less years of experience will be hired at a CNI status. Higher clinical ladder levels may be considered based on relevant experience, national professional nursing certification, and additional nursing education (BSN and MSN).
