QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the area of study is preferred. Experience in teaching the specific field with appropriately aged students. Professional experience operating within a school setting. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Apply knowledge of current research and theory in the educational field to support student enrichment. Communicate clearly, concisely, and responsively—both orally and in writing—with staff, parents, and the general public. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure student success. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple program streams and tasks simultaneously. Work with students and staff of diverse backgrounds with diverse needs in an equitable, inclusive, and culturally proficient manner. Maintain professional awareness of district goals, state/federal regulations, and school board policies while managing confidential records. React calmly, professionally, and objectively to unpredictable situations such as environmental changes, behavior/aggression, or seizure activity. Collaborate with colleagues through shared planning or informal conversation to analyze student performance and development. Support the creation of effective academic, behavioral, and social/emotional learning experiences for students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging co‑curricular instructional activities and enrichment lessons aligned with the approved program goals. Actively execute the program curriculum or project plan to ensure a high‑quality, structured, and meaningful learning experience for all participating students. Promote and encourage student participation and consistent attendance in the program. Ensure activities meet the minimum frequency and length as defined in the Framingham Teachers Association (Unit A) contract. Complete and submit the mandatory program questionnaire provided by the Department of Expanded Learning Time. Track and document student participation data accurately and consistently. Complete and submit the required stipend tracking log on a weekly basis. Work closely with the Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Coordinator to secure appropriate space for program activities, if applicable. Inform the ELT Coordinator promptly of any modifications to schedules, space allocations, or the frequency of activities. Maintain a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive learning environment during all program hours. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Move about and traverse throughout the school building and grounds; navigate effectively through classrooms, cafeterias, and playgrounds. Occasionally remain in a stationary position for extended periods for instructional delivery, administrative tasks, and meetings. Be able to see and hear continuously to ensure student safety and monitor classroom operations. Communicate effectively and clearly with students, parents, and district personnel in person, via email, and on the telephone or video conference. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; operate a computer, input data, and utilize instructional technology and office productivity machinery continuously. Lift, move, and position classroom materials and equipment up to 30 lb. Adapt to dynamic, higher‑noise school environments during classroom instruction, recess, and observations. Interact routinely with diverse stakeholders, meet multiple high‑level demands simultaneously, and maintain focus on student needs amid frequent interruptions. Model and apply de‑escalation techniques as needed during behavioral challenges or high‑stakes emotional situations.

Director of Expanded Learning Time (ELT) and/or designee.

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) CLASSIFICATION

This position is classified as Exempt (Professional).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work year: 185 days (Ten‑Months). Compensation structure: stipend payments distributed twice annually, issued at the midpoint and the conclusion of the school year.
