Accountant, Entry level, onsite


Walker Elliott is working with a growing energy investment company is looking to add Accountant to its team due to continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to build a career within the energy industry. The company offers exposure to oil and gas accounting, royalty interests, financial reporting, acquisitions, and investment operations, providing an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the business rather than focusing on just one area of accounting.


The company is open to both early-career accounting professionals and experienced candidates. Candidates with an accounting degree and a strong academic record who are interested in learning oil and gas accounting will be considered and can be trained on the industry-specific aspects of the role.



The position is fully onsite in Louisiana and will require relocation for candidates who do not currently live in the area.

Responsibilities:


• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, production and royalty payments
• Assist with property tax reviews, financial reporting, and investor reporting
• Maintain accurate accounting records and help resolve discrepancies
• Support the team with additional accounting and financial projects as the company grows


Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong academic performance; 3.0+ GPA preferred for recent graduates
• Early-career candidates with an accounting background are encouraged to apply
• Experience in oil and gas accounting is a plus, but not required
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with Power BI is a plus
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Louisiana
