Job Description

An established manufacturing organization in the Mentor area is seeking an experienced Director of Quality Assurance to provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for its quality function. This position will develop and drive quality systems, continuous improvement initiatives, certification programs, and operational quality standards. The Director will lead the quality team while partnering with executive leadership, engineering, manufacturing, customers, and other stakeholders to strengthen quality, efficiency, and overall business performance. This is a highly confidential direct hire opportunity for an accomplished quality leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Lead quality operations, personnel, priorities, training, and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting a strong quality culture throughout the organization.
• Develop and maintain quality systems, procedures, policies, work instructions, documentation, inspection standards, and certification requirements.
• Direct internal, customer, and certification audits and oversee corrective and preventive actions to ensure issues are addressed effectively and on time.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, leadership, customers, and vendors to ensure products, processes, materials, and equipment meet established quality requirements.
• Manage and develop quality personnel, monitor quality metrics and trends, and recommend solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and business performance.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Technology, or another technical discipline.
• 7–10+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with ISO 9001, AS9100, and/or comparable quality management and certification systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing and leading continuous improvement initiatives and managing quality audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to develop teams, manage competing priorities, and work effectively across departments.
• Strong customer-facing, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience working with quality data, metrics, and database systems.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training is a plus.
• Ability to regularly walk through a manufacturing environment and sit and type for extended periods.
• Ability to follow required safety practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while in manufacturing areas.

The base pay range for this position is $100,000 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
