Direct Support Professional

Job Overview TLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in living their best lives. This full‑time position requires 32+ hours per week and focuses on daily living, communication support, and community engagement. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and community outings. Provide communication support for individuals who use non‑verbal methods, actively listening and interpreting actions. Collaborate with coworkers and Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans. Encourage independence and promote individualized goals (the "Best Life"). Participate in continuous training and apply industry‑specific best practices. Maintain a positive, professional environment within the facility. Qualifications Strong interpersonal and listening skills. Patience and empathy for people with diverse communication needs. Commitment to supporting independence for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Willingness to complete required training and attain the OADSP Basic Certificate. Opportunity to pursue further certifications such as Med Pass and OADSP Advanced Proficiency.
