Role Description The Intellectual Property Legal Secretary will provide administrative support to attorneys handling intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, managing attorney calendars and deadlines, maintaining case files and attorney billing. The role involves filing and organizing correspondence. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Baton Rouge, LA, requiring consistent in-office presence to support attorneys and collaborate with the broader legal team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting legal professionals or legal assistants.
• Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, reviewing, and managing filings and correspondence.
• Strong clerical skills, including data entry, filing, document management, and use of office productivity software (e.g., MS Office, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Diary management capabilities, including maintaining calendars, tracking deadlines, and coordinating schedules and court dates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professional client service and telephone etiquette.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Previous experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred.
