Medication Technician Salary: $18 Schedule: 7am - 8pm / 3 days a week Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years old. Must have a 4-year Human Services Bachelor’s Degree; or 4 years of relevant experience; or 2 years of relevant experience and a 2-year degree. Emotionally and physically able to assist in physical escort and/or restraint. Must be able to help carry an ill, injured, or incapacitated student. Physically able to assist in AWOL searches in mountainous terrain. Confidentiality and professionalism are essential. Valid AZ Driver’s License. Ability to obtain a Fingerprint clearance card (or currently possess one). Responsibilities Pass medications at scheduled med pass times. Ensure proper storage of all medications including prescription, OTC, and narcotic meds. Monitor each student’s medications for all dorms and valley homes to check the need for new medication orders and/or discontinued meds. If a new medication or a refill is needed, contact all pharmacies and fax over correct orders. Check on orders from the previous day to see if they are in, or on their way, and document appropriately. When meds are delivered, check inventory to be sure all are accounted for. Count all controlled meds with a nurse, and document in narcotic med book. Label, and lock in lock box. Pack any medications for a student who is going on a home pass, off‑campus activity or being discharged, and prepare required paperwork. Check all stock medications including, but not limited to, over‑the‑counter meds, PRN meds, creams, lotions, liquids, band‑aid, urine screening tests, and medical supplies. Help transport students to the school and to nursing for exams with NP. Help nurse with wound care, providing first aid when necessary. Clean work area, and help maintain nursing building. Adhere to Mingus policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA. #J-18808-Ljbffr
