Radiologic Technologist – General Diagnostic Imaging | University Health System
Location: Chapel Hill, NC
Job Type: Contract | 36 Hours/Week
Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts
Overview:
A leading academic healthcare system is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols. This role is ideal for both new graduates and experienced technologists .
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general diagnostic radiology procedures with high accuracy
- Verify patient identity, history, and exam requirements
- Ensure proper image quality, orientation, and documentation
- Transmit and manage images through PACS and RIS systems
- Monitor patient safety, including pregnancy status and emergency response
- Maintain imaging equipment and report any issues
- Review and prioritize daily imaging schedules
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and support patient care
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences program
- ARRT (R) Certification – Required
- Active registry status with continuing education compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
