Safety Coordinator

5F is seeking a skilled and highly organized Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the safety program for mechanical construction projects. This role requires ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and industry regulations while fostering a culture of safety among employees and contractors. Safety Coordinator Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Facilitate safety training programs, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and specialized training for employees and subcontractors. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans. Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incident reports. Monitor compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations, as well as client-specific safety requirements. Serve as a resource for safety-related matters and provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies. Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE). Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in workplace safety. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety coordination, preferably in construction or mechanical trades. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP are highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams. Proficient in using safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel to various job sites as needed. Other Details This position will be based in Elgin, Texas.
