What we're looking for

The Registrar is responsible for collecting patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public.

How you'll contribute

• Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Distribute and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
• Meet with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
• Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary.
• Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up

Education

High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.

Certifications

• Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually

Schedule: Wednesday-Friday and every other Saturday 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
