Description of Work Salary Range: $39,731.00 - $48,339.00 Essential job duties, but not limited to, the following: For the District Attorney's Office: Review and analyze criminal histories of potential VTC candidates. Communicate with victims to confirm approval for defendant participation in VTC where required. Assist prosecutors in identifying eligible veteran defendants and making appropriate referrals. Maintain accurate case notes and reports for VTC-related matters within the DA's office. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies to verify veteran status and collect relevant documentation. For the Veterans Treatment Court Director: Assist in day-to-day program operations, including scheduling, data entry, and participant file maintenance. Support the Director in recruiting, screening, and enrolling veteran participants. Facilitate communication between the DA's office, defense counsel, probation, treatment providers, and other VTC team members. Help prepare reports, presentations, and statistical summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Participate in court sessions, team meetings, and community outreach events as directed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: court system and procedures; legal terminology; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses. Skill in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; accurately typing 35-40 wpm; and answering a multi-line telephone system. Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program; manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public; and calmly handle stressful situations.
