Blaster PainterJob Title: Blaster PainterSchedule: Monday – Friday (weekends as needed)Location: Fabrication Yard, Houma, LAPES Expectations: A successful candidate will exhibit characteristics that support the following: Safety Awareness, Work Ethic, Technical Skill, Customer Focus, Open Communication, Implementing Vision and ValuesResponsibilities:Operational knowledge of and understanding basic functions of blasting & painting equipmentMix paint; clean paint pots and spray gunsProvide quality control measures helping blaster/painters avoid, and/or repair sags, runs, holidays and oversprayProtect project equipment and components (cover, mask and etc.)Control correct millage of paint being appliedChoose correct rigging by load weightAssume a safe position during lifting operations and be aware of the position of othersComplete daily visual inspections and minor maintenance to ensure equipment is in proper working conditionParticipate in daily JSEA planning discussionProper PPE selection and usageConduct behavioral based safety observationsUnderstands and uses Stop Work AuthorityQualifications:3 or more years of prior blaster/painter experiencePossesses adequate reading, writing and communication skillsExperience using safe work habitsCandidates will be required to pass: Written Blaster/Painter assessment Hands-on paint testWhy work for PES?
