Manufacturing Engineer – Southbridge, Ma

Responsible for providing engineering and technical support to improve manufacturing yields, reduce scrap, and day-to-day production support for all product lines.

Must have a valid passport - Position requires international travel twice a month for the first 6 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Improves manufacturing yields and reduces scrap by completing assigned projects focused on process and product enhancements.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on yields, scrap, and defectives.
  • Provides production support across all product lines as needed, including occasional off-shift work.
  • Works with the team to develop and update BOMs, routings, tooling, and cost estimates for new and existing products.
  • Assists in implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and SPC in production areas.
  • Supports understanding and implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering discipline required strong statistical analysis background.
  • Experience with high vacuum, thin film deposition and glass / metal machining is required
  • Familiarity with assembly processes
  • Proficiency in optical / light measurement
  • Capable of performing mathematical operations including frequency distribution, test reliability and validity assessment, analysis of variance, correlation methods, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Proficient in computer use, including spreadsheets, presentation software, MRP, and database applications. May utilize analytical software, operate statistical programs, and use CAD applications as needed.
  • Semiconductor industry experience is a plus
