Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer Manager is a key technical leader responsible for driving the development, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment. This role combines expertise in process improvement as well as equipment design, sourcing, and optimization to ensure the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Manufacturing and Controls Engineers in a state of art Mega-factory
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment to meet current and future production demands.
- Coordination with contractors during equipment development, ensuring scope, schedule, and technical requirements are met
- Ensure all equipment complies with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to implement preventative and recovery maintenance strategies.
- Rapid response and troubleshooting for equipment downtime
- Relentless pursuit of improvement through rapid, creative, and first principal solutions
- Create and implement proposals for capital investment that drive production improvements and have return on investment
Quality Assurance:
- Develop in-process quality control using technology solutions to ensure all Critical to Quality manufacturing processes are in control and producing the desired outcome
- Implement fully automated finished goods quality control processes
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and implement improvements as needed.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by validating processes and ensuring seamless scaling to production.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate best practices into Fiber Global's processes.
- Lead projects focused on equipment upgrades, process automation, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Champion safety and sustainability in all aspects of manufacturing.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing tools, jigs, and equipment layouts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to manage equipment installation and commissioning utilizing internal and external resources
- Conduct feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and system simulations to enhance equipment performance.
- Work with electrical and controls engineers to integrate mechanical systems with automation and control systems.
- Troubleshooting and improvement of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system issues in production applications.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance tools.
- Experience with NPI and scaling production for new products.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mass manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvement, equipment design, and quality control.
