Communications Coordinator – (3-Year Contract)
Location: Lexington, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $40 – $60
Duration: 3-Year Contract
Clearance: Must be eligible for Secret clearance (interim clearance acceptable to start)
Overview
A leading research environment is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support HR communications and change management initiatives. This role is ideal for a strong writer and organizer who can translate complex HR processes into clear, user-friendly content and manage multiple communication streams across platforms.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 3–8 years of experience in communications, technical writing, or knowledge management who wants to work in a highly impactful, structured environment.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, edit, schedule, and manage HR communications across internal and external channels (web pages, SharePoint, newsletters, print materials)
- Develop and maintain knowledge base content in ServiceNow to improve employee self-service
- Partner with HR SMEs to document processes, workflows, and procedures
- Ensure all content is clear, consistent, accessible, and aligned with branding standards
- Maintain content lifecycle (updates, reviews, approvals, archiving)
- Support HR communications initiatives and cross-functional projects with HR, IT, and communications teams
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in communications, technical writing, knowledge management, or similar roles
- Strong writing, editing, and content development skills
- Ability to translate complex information into clear, user-friendly documentation
- Experience gathering information and building workflows/process documentation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with ServiceNow (HRSD / Knowledge Base) preferred
- Adobe Creative Suite experience (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred
- SharePoint experience is a plus
