Travel Physical Therapist - $1,968 per week

Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing is hiring a Physical Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Pensacola, Florida. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments, creating and implementing evidence‑based treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain and enhance quality of life. Responsibilities Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment need. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans and accurately document evaluations, interventions and outcomes in the medical record. Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimize outcomes. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention and self‑management to promote long‑term recovery. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued patient progress in community or home settings. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred: Doctorate degree in physical therapy; physical therapy experience; new graduates are welcome. Required Skills Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication skills. Excellent reading, writing and oral communication in English. Ability to comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions and use PC skills. Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, lift 50–100 lb, push, pull and bend. Technical/motor skills: grasp, fine manipulation and use equipment. Mental: cope with frequent public contact, maintain concentration under pressure, function with close or independent supervision.
