Janitorial Site Safety Officer

CW is seeking a dedicated janitorial Site Safety Officer to support safe operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a strong safety culture across our facility.

Conduct routine inspections of work areas, equipment, storage rooms, and chemical stations to identify hazards and ensure safe operations.

Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.

Monitor proper use of PPE, cleaning chemicals, and janitorial equipment, and assist with safe setup, storage, and operation.

Maintain safety logs, incident reports, inspection records, and follow-up documentation for concerns, near-misses, and incidents.

Train staff on safety procedures, chemical handling, equipment use, and emergency protocols; lead toolbox talks, refresher trainings, and safety briefings.

Communicate safety updates, policy changes, corrective actions, and serve as the on-site contact for safety questions or issues.

Work alongside janitorial staff to observe workflows, identify hazards, and support safe daily operations.

Support response efforts for spills, biohazards, equipment issues, and other safety-related events.

Collaborate with site leadership to enhance safety processes and reduce risk across the facility.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities, or environmental services.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety practices or compliance, such as conducting inspections, supporting safety programs, or assisting with OSHA-related requirements.

Familiarity with incident reporting, documentation, or workplace safety protocols, even if in a supporting capacity.

Valid Real ID.

Valid Driver License.

Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

OSHA 10/30-hour certification in Construction or General Industry Safety.

Strong communication skills for delivering safety guidance and interacting with staff at all levels.

Strong attention to detail when observing work practices and identifying potential hazards.

Professional judgment and decision-making in safety-related situations.

Ability to remain calm and organized during incidents or emergency responses.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations.

Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a customer-service-oriented approach.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

Lifting & Carrying: Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 2530 pounds, with occasional heavier handling supported by team members or equipment.

Movement & Posture: Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift, including repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing, and the ability to safely navigate stairs, ramps, and uneven flooring while carrying supplies.

Work Environment: Work primarily indoors within commercial facilities where temperature, lighting, dust, dirt, allergens, and noise levels may vary, including exposure to vacuums, floor buffers, and other machinery with hearing protection provided when needed.

Chemical & Safety Exposure: Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, solvents, and occasional biohazardous materials or bodily fluids, with all required training, safety protocols, and PPE provided.

Work Conditions: Tasks may require working in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or within equipment areas, and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
