Job Summary:
A Respiratory Care Nurse is needed for a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility located in New Britain, Connecticut. This position involves working in a respiratory-focused environment with vent-dependent patients. The role includes float responsibilities to similar units, with the primary focus on providing specialized care to complex, respiratory and ventilated patients in a dedicated 36-bed respiratory care unit and a 38-bed respiratory step-down unit.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings, 3:00 PM 11:30 PM, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 1 year of RN experience, experience with respiratory and vent-dependent patients preferred, prior travel experience preferred, current BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred, valid nurse licensure, experience in Critical Care environment is desirable.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing IV therapy, blood administration, EKGs, wound care, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, Foley care, port access, and central line dressing changes.
• Additional Information: Nurses will be responsible for IV starts, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressing, Trach care, suctioning, straight cath, Foley care, Port Access, and dressing changes. The unit may involve shifts on different units, with some time spent on respiratory step-down and chronic care units. Float to similar units as needed.
