Senior Accountant Full-time Regular Hudson, OH, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1019 Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually Senior Accountant Location: Hudson, Ohio About the Opportunity Ascenso Tires North America is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at our North American headquarters in Hudson, Ohio. The Senior Accountant will manage essential day-to-day accounting functions, including banking, fixed asset accounting, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, and audit support. This position will also provide guidance and support to the Accounting Department while working closely with domestic and global colleagues, company leadership, customers, vendors, government agencies, and external auditors. Key Responsibilities The Senior Accountant will monitor and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable postings, oversee company bank accounts, and reconcile daily banking transactions and monthly statements. This role will prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and monthly accruals while investigating and correcting account discrepancies and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the trial balance. Additional responsibilities include completing month-end closing activities; preparing cost reports, revenue reports, balance sheets, financial statements, and other accounting records; assisting with annual audit preparation; and providing documentation and support to external auditors. The Senior Accountant will also process and maintain periodic operating tax filings, including Sales and Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, and GST/HST, and provide ad hoc reporting and accounting support as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and three to five years of professional accounting experience. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, terminology, and procedures, along with experience working with ERP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. The position also requires strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
