Director, Alliance Management

Gilead Sciences seeks a Director of Alliance Management to oversee strategic partnerships across drug development and commercialization. The role manages governance, contract compliance, partner relationships, and internal stakeholder coordination while serving as the organizational expert on partner companies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee governance of strategic partnerships including research, development, and commercialization partnerships with committees and issue resolution
- Monitor implementation and adherence to partnership plans; manage contract milestones, financial transactions, and progress reports
- Work directly with partner companies to establish direction, scope, timelines, and responsibilities for partnership execution
- Conduct regular senior management reviews to communicate milestones and issues; lead contract renegotiations as appropriate
- Perform alliance audits and health checks; develop organizational expertise on partner companies' structure, leadership, and strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 12 years' experience, or Master's degree and 10 years' experience, or PhD and 8 years' experience
- 5+ years in biotech/pharma alliance management or business development
- Strong drug development experience and expertise in cross-industry partnering
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with ability to operate in matrix teams
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in MS Office and project management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, handle ambiguity, and coordinate across internal and external stakeholders
