CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12 Hour Days

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 hour shifts, days (07:30 AM - 08:00 PM), with every other weekend and holiday required as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to provide critical care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, including CABG, valve repairs, and vascular procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular nursing with a focus on open-heart surgery patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and care for ventilated patients in the CVICU.
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal.
• Administer blood products and medications as needed.
• Monitor patient vitals and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Provide support for patients experiencing cardiogenic shock or dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in handling emergency situations and compliance with infection prevention protocols.
• Float to sister units and lower acuity areas as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active MD RN license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• A minimum of 2 years of CVICU or open-heart experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Prior charge experience is preferred.
