Working with plant management team at all levels within the organization to support the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Perform, and Protect. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirementsAlways use safe work practices, follow all safety rules and procedures, immediately report any hazardous conditions, and fully participate in all safety programsWear all personal protective equipment as required by policyPerform safety observations and complete training assignmentsAbility to read, comprehend and execute standard operating procedures, written instructions and equipment screensAbility to maintain written operations records as requiredSetup, monitor, and troubleshooting labeler/applicator machines to ensure all packages have labels applied correctlyMake sure all packages are shrink wrapped to specificationInspect, identify and disposition packages for damagesVerify the correct packaging specification is used when line is changed overLoad, monitor, operate, and troubleshoot the semi-automatic package unitizer machineReload stretch wrappers with film and restartMonitor edge trim and correct upset conditionsManually move product onto or off production lines as requiredOperate forklift to off-load packages from the line and transport to the correct inventory location as per specifications and provided documentationUtilize mobile equipment to deliver raw materials to line locations as needed to ensure no interruptions in productionMonitor and report upset conditions for all equipment to line lead or supervisor leadershipInspect products for quality, proper labeling and proper package countPerform housekeeping tasks throughout shift as needed/directedPerform turnaround duties during plant maintenance downtime to include basic housekeeping as well as deeper cleaning and operator maintenance tasksPerforms other duties as directedThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.Education and/or Experience and SkillsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredForklift CertifiedPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled, and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season. Walking surfaces can be wet, dusty, and uneven. Areas of the building where work must be done have high noise levels, vibration, and/or fumes. Some working areas contain the presence of airborne particles which can irritate the skin or eyes.
