Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Saturday and Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM on alternating weekends)

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist will perform point of care testing and support laboratory operations by performing various clerical duties as assigned. This role requires a licensed professional who can work independently while effectively communicating with nursing and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers.
• Perform patient testing, including both waived and non-waived tests.
• Process specimens by ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, preparing send outs for transport, and maintaining lab supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of lab surfaces and adhere to safety protocols in compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid ASCP certification (MLS, CLS, MT Medical Technologist).
• A minimum of 2 years working in a hospital laboratory environment as an MLT or MLS.
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC and knowledge of laboratory analyzers.
