Patient Service Specialist (Front Desk)

Location: Vienna, VA

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (4 Months)

Work Environment: 100% Onsite

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Patient Service Specialist to support a busy outpatient healthcare clinic in Vienna, VA. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and is responsible for managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, and providing exceptional customer service. • Welcome patients and manage check-in/check-out processes
• Register new patients and update patient demographics
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions
• Provide friendly and professional support to patients and visitors
• Address patient concerns and direct inquiries appropriately

• Verify insurance information and coverage
• Document patient information and provider notes in the EMR system
• Assist with patient accounts and general office functions
• Coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as needed

• Support providers and clinic staff throughout the day
• Balance phone calls, patient interactions, and administrative tasks simultaneously
• Ensure smooth daily front office operations

• Previous customer service experience
• Medical office or healthcare experience
• Front desk or receptionist experience
• Patient registration experience
• Insurance verification knowledge
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Patient check-in/check-out experience
• Prior authorization experience
• Medicaid or insurance processing experience
• Call center or inbound phone support experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashburn, VA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
