This role is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work schedule while still facilitating essential face-to-face interactions. You will work closely with other therapists, case managers, and professionals in various disciplines to enhance the therapeutic outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions or group therapy sessions at our outpatient facility, actively engaging with clients in their own environments to foster substantial growth.

• Utilize effective therapeutic techniques to help clients manage anger, develop coping strategies, and enhance social skills while addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Facilitate the improvement of decision-making skills in youth and their caretakers, offering guidance to manage and mitigate in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Engage in consistent and collaborative communication with the Child Family Treatment Team and other allied professionals to create a cohesive approach to care for our clients.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation within designated timelines, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

• Participate actively in monthly meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on providing therapeutic services to children and teens aged 3-20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). We understand that these young individuals face unique challenges, and we aim to equip them—and their families—with the tools necessary to thrive emotionally and socially. As a therapist at Clear Mind Therapy Clinic, you would play a crucial role in addressing their distinct needs by building trusting relationships and delivering tailored therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New York.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
\n
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in therapy, particularly focusing on children with behavioral challenges or disabilities.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM to 7 PM), with a willingness to work weekends as needed.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support and implementing evidence-based interventions.

• Experience working specifically with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desirable, allowing for better communication and support for our diverse clientele.
