A nationally recognized, AV-rated civil litigation firm with more than 40 years of experience and multiple offices nationwide is seeking an attorney to join its First-Party Property Coverage practice. With over 100 attorneys, the firm offers a collaborative, growth-focused environment and a clearly defined path to partnership, including potential equity opportunities. About the Role The First-Party Property Coverage Attorney will play a key role in a growing and sophisticated property insurance practice, handling high-exposure coverage disputes from pre-suit evaluation through litigation and resolution. This position offers substantial hands‑on responsibility, direct client interaction, and meaningful courtroom experience. Ideal for an attorney looking to deepen technical coverage expertise while advancing toward long‑term partnership opportunities within a collaborative, high-performing team. Responsibilities Manage first-party property coverage disputes from inception through resolution Conduct pre-suit coverage analysis and provide strategic recommendations Draft pleadings, motions, and coverage opinions Take and defend depositions, including Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) Participate in mediations, hearings, and court appearances Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and case development Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in first-party property coverage or insurance defense litigation Strong policy analysis and coverage interpretation skills Experience handling EUOs, depositions, pleadings, and motions Excellent writing, analytical, and oral advocacy abilities Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Detail-oriented with a team-first mindset Active license to practice law in North Carolina or eligibility for admission Pay range and compensation package Base salary ranging from $120,000 – $180,000 DOE + non-discretionary bonus opportunities Hybrid work schedule combining remote and in-office flexibility Clear path to partnership and potential equity ownership Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and retirement options Ongoing professional development, mentorship programs, and firm-sponsored events Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive workplace.
