PART-TIME SOLAR SERVICE TECHNICIAN - Wesley Chapel / Tampa Bay $28-30/hour | Part-time, roughly 3 days a week | Daytime hours, no nights or weekends Most of the people who call us for service never bought a thing from us. They bought from a company that stopped answering the phone, or that doesn't exist anymore. Their system has been down for months. They've called everyone. Half of them have been told it isn't worth fixing. We fix it. That's the job. Aspire Solar Energy is a licensed Florida solar contractor (CVC57277) based in Wesley Chapel. We install residential and commercial solar, but the side of the business growing fastest right now is service, and I expect it to keep growing. Our reviews are excellent and they're worth reading - they're not just from people we sold something to, they're from people we got out of a hole. I want someone who takes that seriously. WHAT YOU'D BE DOING - Service and warranty calls on residential systems - production issues, comms faults, failed equipment - Phone troubleshooting with manufacturer tech support. This is a real part of the job. A lot of calls get solved on the line with Enphase or SolarEdge before anyone touches a panel - Swapping microinverters, optimizers, panels, and the occasional string inverter - Attending county inspections: meeting the inspector, and handling the small stuff that gets us a first-time pass (labeling, placards, minor corrections) - Annual system inspections for our service plan customers - Documenting what you found and what you did so we can get the warranty claim filed Most of this work happens from the ground. When a call turns into real roof work, I send a second hand out - you're not up there by yourself. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Hands-on electrical or solar experience. You've worked on residential PV and you're comfortable in a panel - SolarEdge experience specifically. Optimizer and inverter faults are the most common thing we see - Enphase microinverters, and ideally Tesla Powerwall or Franklin aPower batteries - Patience and professionalism, on the phone with manufacturer support and face to face with a homeowner who's been frustrated for months - Able to diagnose on your own and know when a call needs a second set of hands - Comfortable on a roof and a ladder when the job calls for it - Clean driving record and reliable transportation - Your own hand tools An electrical license is NOT required. All work is performed under Aspire's contractor license and supervision. WHAT WE PROVIDE - Uniform - Vehicle magnets, business cards with your name, and the test equipment you need including a ladder - Paid manufacturer training and certification - Enphase, SolarEdge, and Tesla - Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate (currently 76 cents a mile) - Backup on any call that gets bigger than one person THE DETAILS - $28-30/hour depending on experience - Roughly 3 days a week, normal business hours. No nights, no weekends - Service area runs up to about an hour and 45 minutes from Wesley Chapel - Tampa, St. Pete, Lakeland, Orlando, Sarasota, Ocala, Brooksville - On lighter service weeks there's the option of half days with the install crew - extra hand on the ground or running for equipment. - This role grows as the service side grows, and I expect it to. - Luke, Owner Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week Shift availability: Day Shift (Required) Willingness to travel: 100% (Preferred) Work Location: On the road
