CFO-Partner Senior Accountant (Hybrid, PE-backed)

Legacy Search has partnered with a rapidly growing,private equity owned manufacturing company that is seeking a Senior Accountan t to join its finance team in a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional looking to step into a true “right hand to the CFO ” position with meaningful exposure to leadership, operations, and strategic initiatives About the Opportunity This firm is thriving, and doing so well it has become a long term hold for its PE Ownership. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in strengthening the month-end close process, improving internal controls, and supporting financial reporting for both internal leadership and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, analysis, and presentation materials Support private equity reporting requirements , lender reporting, and audit processes Assist in cash management, budgeting/forecasting, and variance analysis Evaluate and enhance internal controls and accounting processes Collaborate cross-functionally with operations to understand cost drivers and inventory Contribute to system and process improvements as the company scales Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred 4–8+ years of progressive accounting experience (manufacturing or inventory experience highly preferred) Background in public accounting and/or PE-backed / mid-market environment is a plus Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and intercompany accounting. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environmentwith a high level of ownership Why This Role?
