Chief CRNA Opportunity at Exeter Hospital

Exeter Hospital, a level 3 trauma center located in Exeter, New Hampshire, is looking to grow their CRNA team. This community-based practice offers an anesthesia care-team model, embracing an excellent work-life balance and collegial environment. CRNAs practice with autonomy and are encouraged to practice to the full scope of their license, being comfortable with pediatrics is preferred.

The Chief CRNA will serve as a clinical coordinator for nearby nurse anesthesia programs that have clinical rotations at Exeter Hospital. Exeter is conveniently located, being less than an hour from Boston and Portland, which is great for commuters within the family. Exeter is located next to the seacoast, and within close distance to mountains. This superb location is the quintessential place for both summer water sports and winter snow sports. There is great access to outdoor activities and notable schools, such as Phillips Exeter Academy. Also, Boston's Logan airport is only an hour away for more extensive traveling. It is considered a great place for family living and community. There is no state income tax or sales tax.

Case assignments include general surgery, ortho, endo, ENT, GYN, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, plastics, healthy peds, dental. No head/hearts or chronic pain. Shifts are 8 and 10 hour shifts available with beeper-call for nights and weekends. Potential for additional income pending number of calls taken.

Team leadership includes Elizabeth Gooding, DNP, APRN, CRNA—Advanced Practice Anesthesia Director. In her role, Elizabeth supports the New England and NAPA Northwell regions as a voice for local clinicians, along with being a leader who hears, understands, and values those on our clinical team.

Team highlights include CRNAs working in a care-team model with the ability to practice with autonomy. CRNAs are encouraged to practice full scope with options to perform regional anesthesia (spinal and blocks).

Requirements include pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed. Current license as a registered professional nurse, graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education, certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, and leadership experience are preferred.
