SUMMARY:
The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for inventory in motion and oversees all inventory transactions related to order fulfillment, packaging, labeling, logistics, and outbound distribution activities. This position ensures inventory movements are accurately recorded in Metrc and Acumatica, while leading the fulfillment and packaging teams to guarantee orders are picked, packed, manifested, and shipped accurately, on time, and in compliance with company standards and state regulations. In partnership with the Inventory Supervisor, who maintains ownership of the verified inventory position, the Distribution Supervisor ensures the accurate execution of all inventory transactions from packaging through final delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this list is not all inclusive)
Leads, directs, and oversees the daily activities of the fulfillment, packaging, and logistics teams.
Trains, coaches, and cross-trains employees while providing ongoing performance feedback and development opportunities.
Assigns daily tasks and allocate resources to ensure operational priorities are completed efficiently and accurately.
Maintains ownership of the hiring, onboarding, employee development, performance management, disciplinary, promotion, and termination processes for the distribution department, ensuring all actions are executed in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Oversees all order fulfillment activities, including picking, packaging, quality verification, and shipment preparation.
Executes and maintains accurate inventory transactions in Metrc and Acumatica, including package creation, weighing, package splits and combinations, transfer intake, outbound tagging, and inventory decrements.
Verifies that physical inventory, package weights, and product information align with system records.
Investigates, corrects, and reconciles inventory discrepancies identified during daily operations or inventory reviews.
Coordinates with the Inventory Supervisor to ensure all inventory movements reconcile with the verified inventory position.
Directs packaging and labeling operations and ensure compliance with all state and company requirements.
Maintains adequate inventory levels of packaging materials and compliant labels.
Ensures customer service standards are met by maintaining order accuracy, completeness, and turnaround expectations.
Manages transportation manifests, shipping documentation, and invoices to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance.
Coordinates outbound shipment schedules and transportation routes in partnership with the Director of Operations.
Ensures all transportation activities comply with state and local cannabis regulations.
Maintains the facility's Weighmaster license and oversee required deputy updates.
Verifies that all scales and weighing equipment comply with applicable state and county requirements.
Serves as the primary point of contact for regulators and auditors regarding outbound shipments, manifests, and transportation compliance.
Plans and optimize warehouse layouts and storage locations to maximize operational efficiency.
Analyzes inventory trends, SKU segmentation, product turnover, aging inventory, excess inventory, and days of supply.
Develops inventory forecasts and prepare weekly inventory reports in collaboration with the Inventory Supervisor.
Prepares operational reports and performance metrics for the Director of Operations.
Creates, maintains, and updates standard operating procedures, training materials, and departmental documentation.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions that support organizational goals.
Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Communicates clearly with staff, management, and external partners; builds strong working relationships.
Interprets operational metrics (inventory, turns, DOS, aging) to support planning and continuous improvement.
Identifies inefficiencies and leads change without disrupting operational continuity.
Exercises appropriate discretion, respects chain of command, and handles sensitive matters responsibly.
Demonstrates consistent adherence to safety protocols, dependable attendance, and accurate timekeeping.
Maintains focus on timely fulfillment, quality standards, and internal/external partner satisfaction.
Serves as a proactive change agent who drives process improvement, operational efficiency, and cultural alignment.
Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and work effectively across various sectors of the department as needed or requested by a direct supervisor. This includes the capacity to support other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and responsiveness to organizational needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Constantly: Walking, sitting at a desk, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, computer input, coordination of hand and eye.
Frequently: Standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, and twisting.
Frequently: Reaching above shoulder height, lifting 50 lbs., ability to do push/pull motions.
Constantly: Use visual display terminals (e.g., computers, tablets) for extended periods of time.
Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant field or equivalent life experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Quality assurance, quality control with good manufacturing practices (GMP)
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (excel, word, power point, etc.).
Proficient with computer data entry (i.e. Excel, METRC, Acumatica, etc.)
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age per state regulations and pass a criminal background Check.
