Program Management Specialist (Plans & Policy)

Bottom Line Up Front: Support the strategic evolution of the AFSC Software Engineering Directorate. Operating within the Plans and Policy Branch, you will perform organizational analysis, assist in establishing long-range goals, develop performance metrics, and coordinate public-private partnerships that strengthen the Air Force software ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic & Policy Support: Assist in drafting long-range strategic goals, interpreting policies for regulatory compliance, and tracking key organizational performance metrics.

- Portfolio & Partnership Coordination: Support portfolio management activities and help coordinate cooperative initiatives with private and public sector partners.

- Organizational Analysis: Conduct studies and gather data to analyze resource allocation, evaluate logistics operations, and support continuous process improvement projects.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams across the Strategic Agility Division to execute project milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain a Secret security clearance

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.

2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.

3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.

4. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.

5. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
