Manufacturing Technician ILocation: 4625 NE Brookwood Parkway, Hillsboro, OR 97124Contract Duration: 12 Months – Potential Extension or Full-Time ConversionPay Rate: $23.10/hour (W2)Benefits: Weekly Pay, Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceShift: Swing Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–1:30 AMPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to support sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging operations in a state-of-the-art, automated production facility. Under the direction of the Process Unit Lead or Lead Technician, the Manufacturing Technician will perform a variety of activities related to the filling, inspection, packaging, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of sterile pharmaceutical products. The technician will work in accordance with cGMP requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product recipes, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and site standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate, clean, set up, and perform changeovers on manufacturing and packaging equipment used for vials, pre-filled syringes, and drug delivery devices.Support the inspection and packaging of pharmaceutical products while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues affecting production equipment and assist with resolution.Perform routine and user-level maintenance on production equipment and systems.Support Engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, and external service providers with equipment repairs, calibration, installations, and major overhauls.Execute production recipes, check in equipment, and perform material movements using SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).Complete Batch Production Records (BPRs), logbooks, forms, and other manufacturing documentation accurately and in accordance with GDP requirements.Maintain complete accountability and traceability of materials, components, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process.Identify, report, and document process deviations, atypical events, and other manufacturing issues according to site SOPs.Perform manual and semi-automated visual inspection of filled product vials with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.Conduct environmental monitoring activities and perform routine cleaning and housekeeping to maintain required manufacturing-area environmental conditions.Follow all plant safety policies and procedures and proactively identify and report unsafe conditions.Train other technicians as needed and contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs and training materials.Communicate equipment issues, supply requirements, maintenance needs, process concerns, and safety issues at the beginning and end of each shift.Make recommendations to improve equipment reliability, yield, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.Continuous Improvement & CollaborationThe successful candidate will:Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts such as 5S and Kaizen.Use equipment and process performance data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost reduction.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Engineering, and Asset Management, on process improvements and new initiatives.Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.Required Technical KnowledgeExperience or familiarity with automated manufacturing systems, including:SAPManufacturing Execution Systems (MES)Pi ProcessBookProgrammable Logic Controllers (PLC)Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)Automated production and packaging equipmentMechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenanceQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of manufacturing experience in a related industry such as: Aerospace, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Semiconductor.OR Two-year Associate's Degree in Bioscience Technology, Microelectronics Technology, or similar technical or manufacturing discipline.Preferred Experience2–5 years of experience within the last 7 years operating equipment used for the inspection and packaging of products or containers is highly desirable.Experience working in a GMP/cGMP, regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other quality-controlled environment is a plus.Experience with automated manufacturing and packaging equipment is preferred.Computer SkillsCandidates must be comfortable working with computer-based manufacturing systems and should have:Basic computer literacy and typing skills.Experience navigating computer applications and web-based systems.Ability to work with PLC-based logic and automated equipment interfaces.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to navigate email and web-based applications.Ability to learn and operate SAP, MES, and other manufacturing software.Physical & Work RequirementsRead, write, and communicate effectively in English.Work the assigned Swing Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM.Work overtime and other shifts when required.Lift up to 45 pounds.Stand for extended periods of time.Work in controlled manufacturing environments and follow gowning requirements.Successfully complete all job-related training, testing, medical evaluations, and certifications required for a cGMP manufacturing environment.Pass required visual inspection qualification, vision acuity, and color discrimination testing.Maintain and renew required qualifications and certifications annually or as required by the position.
