Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - Maternal and Newborn Care

SCHEDULE
Part-Time, 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730, with weekend rotation

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 32

REQUIREMENTS
- Two-year degree in nursing required; four-year degree preferred
- Wisconsin Registered Nursing license
- AHA BLS within 1 month of hire
- NRP within 6 months of hire
- ALSO within 1 year of hire
- STABLE within 1 year of hire
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 1 year of hire
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individual care plans.
- Triage patient care based on symptoms presented.
- Administer medications accurately and assess labor progression.
- Manage labor induction, cervical ripening, and medical emergencies.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and manage pregnancy-related concerns.
- Assess newborns and recognize situations requiring enhanced care, performing necessary neonatal resuscitation when needed.
- Educate patients and involve them in the care of their newborns.
- Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the care team.
