Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 7-8, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern for our office in Philadelphia, PA to support the Rail/Transportation Engineering team.

Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.

This position is expected to begin Spring/Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering field with the intent to continue enrollment after the internship and must have completed at least 2 of years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microstation
• Ability to work in team setting
• Effective communication skills

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Philadelphia, PA . The selected candidate must be available to work in Philadelphia, PA on a scheduled basis.
