Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Speech Language Pathologist Assistants work under the supervision of the certified speech-language pathologist to assist with the implementation of treatment plans, collaborate with staff members, and collect data on student performance. Minimum qualifications include an associate or bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences (preferred). Experience with children is preferred.

Essential responsibilities include documenting student performance and reporting information to the SLP, assisting the SLP with treatment implementation using the treatment plan developed by the SLP, collaborating with teachers and related service staff on a regular ongoing basis, adhering to student IEPs as directed by the SLP, supporting in creating and preparing materials as directed by the SLP, logging sessions into Relay/Compuclaim, and maintaining updated data on all goals and objectives addressed in sessions.

Job details include 37.5 hours per week inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid lunch (35 hours per week is paid). The staff member may travel between three schools within the district. Caseload includes students pre-K to 12. Requirements include passing federal and local background checks, having reliable transportation, and completing all pre-employment requirements before the start date. Term is full-time with a starting rate of $25.00-$27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
