You will assist in the daily care of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, in the following ways:Assist our individuals with activities of daily livingMaintain a healthy and comfortable living environmentAssist with and work to strengthen the individuals' many daily living needs, including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, community integration, and socialization skillsHelp individuals to bathe, groom and dress, eat meal prep if necessary, always working to improve self-reliance.Help set individual goals and track client progress, noting any drastic changes; report findings to superiorsMake phone calls and drive the individuals we serve to appointments, meetings, events, etc.Encourage individual skill development and work toward community integrationDevelop meaningful relationships and connections with your clients to make them feel cared for and included in the communityFollow all health and safety protocolsHelp with clean and tidy home for the individualsAttend continuing education courses, complete assigned trainings, and obtain additional certifications as the job requiresBe a compassionate, patient, and encouraging direct support professional at all times; you are a caregiver, cheerleader, and advocate rolled into one, and your work can change the lives of many for the better.Additional Details:Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time (Weekend Shifts)Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hourPosition Type: Full-TimeSchedule Options: Full Time: Sat-Sun 7am-11pmPart-Time: Saturday-Sunday, 11:00 PM-7AMWork Location: Windsor Mill, MDReach out to us if you possess:3 years of Previous experience in caregiving, personal care or other related fieldsA compassionate and caring demeanorAbility to build rapport with clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMinimum high school diploma or GED equivalentValid driver's license / Reliable transportation to workAdult First Aid & CPR/AED certificationCMT (Required)DDAMANDTCan Pass a state background check (dependent on state requirements)We also want to hear from those who:Are comfortable working independently and can consistently make sound judgments that benefit the individuals we serve.Are flexible, with a keen ability to handle stress wellHave a friendly disposition with a positive 'can-do' attitudeHave experience tracking and recording information (database software)Enjoy working with developmentally disabled individuals to improve their quality of lifeOffer strong interpersonal skills and passionate about helping those in needEqual Opportunity for AllWe are an equal opportunity employer that values and encourages diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at our company.
