Job Description:
As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing banquet events from setup through completion while ensuring exceptional guest service and smooth event execution. This is a part-time, seasonal, on-call position , with most shifts lasting 6–8 hours and scheduled based on event needs.
Your main duties will include:
- Supervising banquet servers and coordinating event operations
- Ensuring banquet rooms are set up according to event specifications and BEOs (Banquet Event Orders)
- Greeting clients and serving as the primary point of contact during events
- Coordinating food and beverage service to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Monitoring event timelines and communicating with the kitchen and management throughout the event
- Assisting with event setup, service, and breakdown as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Addressing guest requests and resolving issues promptly and professionally
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Previous banquet, catering, or restaurant supervisory experience is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional appearance
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past five (5) years may be required, as this position may involve driving a company vehicle to and from event locations.
