Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective treatment. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, documenting findings meticulously.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring proper documentation.
• Educate patients and families on post-care instructions, medication management, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current/state licensure.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) preferred.
• Proven experience in a Medical Surgical unit or similar setting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable working with patients in both 'clean' and 'dirty' COVID-designated areas and managing ventilated patients with BiPAP, CPAP, or high-flow oxygen.
