Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Santa Rosa, California.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 26 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 26 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D and post-partum experience and a CA RN license.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds\n Night shift, 3x12 schedule from 19:00-7:00, with 4x12 available upon request\n Patient ratio of 1:3\n 36-hour orientation provided\n Float required between like units and sister facilities\n Uses Epic charting system\n Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period\n Requirements\n \n Active CA RN license (Compact license accepted, must be in hand at time of submission)\n Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP\n Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced\n Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required (3 years preferred)\n Labor and post-partum experience is a hard requirement\n Epic EMR experience required\n Trauma Level II experience preferred\n Skilled in high-risk delivery, C-section circulation, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care\n Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other L&D medications\n Proficient in newborn care, including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages\n Manage high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage, and obstetric emergencies\n Support breastfeeding and lactation for postpartum patients\n Perform fetal monitoring, including internal and external methods\n Scrub color requirement: royal blue or navy blue (L&D scrubs provided)\n Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)\n RTO must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer requests may not be accommodated\n First-time travelers will not be considered for this role\n Local candidates within 50 miles accepted only at a lower bill rate\n Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility\n Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-757432.
