Dental Assistant (X-ray Certified)

Pay: $20 - $23.05 Location: Wilmington, DE Schedule: Monday 8:00am - 3:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Friday as needed Children's Dental Health is seeking a passionate X-ray certified Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team in providing top-notch dental care to our patients. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients feel comfortable and receive the highest quality dental care possible. You will assist the dentist during procedures, prepare and sterilize instruments, take X-rays, maintain patient records, and provide exceptional patient care. The ideal assistant for our team has a calm disposition and a talent for building rapport with young patients, who may be scared or anxious. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate dental care for patients based on individual, specific patient needs and according to dentist’s orders. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Provides diagnostic information by taking all radiographs and quantity of radiographs deemed medically necessary by the clinical judgement of the treating dentist. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments using four-handed dentistry. Maintain appropriate certifications and/or licensures. Perform all other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least 6 months of Dental Assistant experience with x-ray certification OR at least one (1) year of direct dental assisting experience without current X-ray certification, but must obtain certification within 90 days of employment Knowledge of OSHA and HIPA policies Customer Service Experience – Friendly and helpful demeanor with patients and co-workers. Flexibility – Must adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities. Ability to work well under stressful situations Must be available to travel to other locations to meet operational needs Preferred, But Not Required Knowledge of electronic dental records and practice management systems, specifically Denticon.
