About the job Connecticut - Field Service Technician Job Title: Field Service Technician (956) Company: Xeikon America Location: Manchester, CT Area Job Type: Full-time | On the road Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour About Us: Xeikon, headquartered just outside of Chicago in Elgin, IL, specializes in designing, building, installing, and maintaining complete digital printing solutions for labels, packaging, document, commercial, and folding carton applications. Job Description: As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our digital printing solutions. Based in the Manchester, CT area, your primary responsibilities will include: Customer Communication: Keep customers informed about all call activities, including scheduled arrival times, planned calls, and any deviations. Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose failures and perform on-site repairs following company guidelines. Inventory Management: Maintain parts inventory and handle shipping of parts as needed after service calls. Reporting: Provide real-time updates throughout the day on service call activities and report any issues needing further attention. Special Projects: Participate in special projects as requested. Profile: We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: Education: Degree or certification in electrical engineering or a technical field is a plus. Skills: Strong mechanical, electrical, and computer skills are essential. Previous field experience and familiarity with "road warrior" travel are advantageous. Knowledge of the printing industry is a plus. Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and computer skills. Problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage work‑related stress. Physical Requirements: Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally move more than 100 lbs.
