School-Based Social Worker - Schenectady, New York

This contract opportunity involves school social work in special education settings for two potential needs: a short-term assignment (September-October 2026) at an elementary school and a possible position at a high school for the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- New York State Teaching Certification: School Social Worker
- Active NYS Licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); preference for LCSW
- Experience working in school and/or healthcare-based social work, with a strong understanding of special education processes and supports
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding best practices in service delivery
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to consult with educators and families to design effective intervention plans
- Team-oriented approach and a passion for advocating for students' success
- Deliver individual and group counseling and social-emotional support to students with special needs
- Conduct assessments and develop comprehensive intervention strategies
- Consult with teachers, parents, and external providers regarding students' individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Facilitate referrals to community resources and collaborate in multi-disciplinary meetings
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
