POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Coordinates and manages the day-to-day operational functions of the Detention Services Uniform Warehouse, including receiving, organizing, maintaining, issuing, and tracking uniforms and related supplies for statewide facilities and Headquarters.
• Coordinates uniform inventory and distribution activities; maintains accurate inventory records, monitors stock levels, identifies shortages or excess inventory, and coordinates replenishment to ensure facilities and staff receive uniforms and supplies as needed.
• Processes and coordinates purchasing activities related to uniforms and warehouse supplies. Reviews requisitions for accuracy, verifies pricing and vendor information, obtains required quotes, and ensures purchases comply with applicable state purchasing requirements and contracts.
• Reviews purchasing requirements, mandatory and non-mandatory state contracts, Certified Minority Business enterprise (CMBE) requirements, quote requirements, bids, PRIDE, and reasonable determination requirements, and assists with identifying appropriate vendors.
• Maintains and analyzes warehouse and purchasing records; prepares reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other documentation to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and provide information to management for operations decision-making.
• Processes statewide uniform requests for staff and trainees and maintains documentation related to uniform issuance, requests, exemptions, and vendor information.
• Processes requests for Headquarters approval of exemptions to CMBE vendor requirements and tracks approvals and renewal dates to ensure timely resubmission when required.
• Provides operational support to Detention Services by researching issues, coordinating resolutions, communicating with facilities and vendors, and assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : 

• Knowledge of Florida Statues relating to purchasing regulations and payment of invoices for commodities and services.
• Knowledge of various computer software programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to problem solve.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• High School diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in inventory, stock control, or warehouse duties.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes and organize stock safely.
• Basic computer skills to track inventory records.
• Good communication and organization habits.
• No prior discipline within the last two years.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH:

• Knowledge of Works and ordering on AOD.
