Associate Director, Small Molecules & Biologics Logistics Operations (Remote Eligible)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director to oversee small molecules and biologics logistics operations, managing clinical and commercial product distribution, temperature-controlled shipments, third-party logistics providers, and compliance across a global network.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end clinical and commercial product distribution and site-to-site materials movement across internal and external manufacturing networks
• Oversee third-party logistics provider selection, performance, relationships, audits, and contract management
• Develop and implement logistics network strategy supporting product launches and lifecycle management
• Lead cross-functional logistics projects and serve as liaison between project management, quality, and line leadership
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives for logistics infrastructure and customer satisfaction

Requirements

• 7-10+ years progressive supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing leadership in pharmaceutical industry
• Experience managing temperature-controlled and cold chain logistics operations
• Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices, trade compliance, and hazardous shipment regulations
• Proficiency with logistics systems (TMS, WMS) and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Master's degree in business, supply chain, industrial engineering, or finance preferred
• Supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to develop and manage teams
• Experience with biologics, genetic therapy, or cell therapy products strongly preferred
